If you've been exploring the Sinnoh region of Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, you've no doubt stumbled upon the Grand Underground. It's a massive, maze-like area that you could originally access in the Pokémon Diamond and Pearl versions that debuted on the Nintendo DS. But now, it's a much larger, more complicated area with additional treasures, Pokémon, and more that you'll definitely want to work your way through.

There's just one problem. It's a lot different than you may remember it being. If you need some assistance traversing the Grand Underground, don't worry. We've got your back. Here's how you can access every part of the Grand Underground in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.

How to access every part of the Grand Underground

Central Area

If you want to tackle this undertaking, you'll want to first head to Celestic Town. Here, you can access the Central Area of the Grand Underground. Head to the Central Area to get started.

If you head to the north from Celestic Town, you can enter the top left portion of the in-game map, and you'll find the Icy Cave. You'll be able to capture a few Ice-type Pokémon here, so it's well worth traveling to Be sure that you come here after exiting Mt. Cornet on your way to Snowpoint City. If you go head down digging here, you'll find these Pokémon habitats:

  • Whiteout Cave

  • Icy Cave

  • Dazzling Cave

  • Spacious Cave

  • Glacial Cavern

Bottom Left Area

After digging your way to the northern area for the Central Area, head to the bottom left of the map by heading to Canalave City or Twinleaf Town. There, you'll find these Pokémon Hideaways:

  • Grassland Cave

  • Fountainspring Cave

  • Spacious Cave

  • Swampy Cave

  • Riverbank Cave

  • Sunlit Cavern

Bottom Right Area

Head to Sunnyshore City and start digging if you want to head to this part of the Grand Underground. It's a massive area, and you'll find these Pokémon Hideaways there:

  • Rocky Cave

  • Fountainspring Cave

  • Spacious Cave

  • Sandsear Cave

  • Bogsunk Cave

  • Swampy Cave

Top Right Area

If you want to reach this part of the Grand Underground, you'll have to finish the game first. You have to first visit the Battle Zone, and then use the Explorer Kit. You'll need powerful Pokémon to get through this area, so make sure your team is fighting fit enough to make their way through. Here are the Pokémon Hideaways you can find there:

  • Dazzling Cave

  • Volcanic Cave

  • Sandsear Cave

  • Grassland Cave

  • Fountainspring Cave

  • Spacious Cave

  • Rocky Cave

  • Typhlo Cavern

Main Area

The largest part of the Grand Underground can be found on either side of the Sinnoh region. You can dig down and find yourself on the other side of your location, which is a bit odd. Still, you'll find these Pokémon Hideaways there:

  • Spacious Cave

  • Rocky Cave

  • Swampy Cave

  • Riverbank Cave

  • Volcanic Cave

  • Big Bluff Cavern

  • Still Water Cavern

  • Dazzling Cave
